i want to start with that i just reread my last blog and man! i was on fire! i was really upset. i know exactly what upset me to prompt such a blog. and i'll say this: all's well, that ends well. for now.
anyway, moving on....
i am sure most of you have at least heard of the latest sensation "jersey shore'. it comes on MTV.
if you've seen or heard of this show, you know it is a whole new level of of ridiculous. i am ridiculous and i cannot even begin to match their level of ridiculousness. nor am i sure that i would want to. but that is why i watched the show. it is beyond ridiculous.
so, i was going to bed the other night and what did i come across on the TV? jersey shore! it looked like it was the season finale. they all were talking about how great the summer was, and how they will never have this experience again and they had their "last dinner" together.
Season Finale: Jersey Shore (here's a link if you are interested to see what i am talking about. most of what i am talking about is during the last half of the episode).
as i was watching, i was taken back. these people stuck together through thick and thin. they genuinely cared about each other. they wanted to stay together forever. they were bonded. like family.
family.
that is a word they kept saying over and over again. that they all were family now. and that they'd do anything for each other. the difference with this show is that even though it was beyond ridiculous, they were ridiculous for each other. instead of against each. when it came down to it, they were there for each other.
if someone got into a fight, they backed each other up. if someone was sad, they cheered each other up.
they are family.
at the end of the day, they were together. "they lived together, they slept together, they fought together and they made up together."
this was such a ridiculous show, and maybe not even real, but nonetheless, sent home such an important message that is totally lost in today's society.
and watching this made me think of keith's family, who is also italian (like the kids of jersey shore). keith's family has such a strong family bond. they would do anything for each other. thick and thin. that is why i feel so lucky to be a part of it.
perhaps family is a cultural thing. i think it should be an American thing.

you so should! try the recipe that is, haha. I accidentally clicked on your name instead of responding back on my blog. Opps. I have the complete recipe listed somewhere on my blog or my other blog where i put all my recipes. It's SO good! Or at least we think so :-) Haha.
ok, not to bombard your blog with comments :-) But here is a link to the recipe! Hope you're doing good! I love reading your blog..its so honest and so many people sugar coat everything they write because they don't want to offend people. Which is annoying because people should write what they really think...at least that's my opinion, haha. Anyways, here's the link:
